Our Department

About

Our department has become active with 41 students in 2013-2014 school years.  In addition to the ever-expanding academic staff, secondary education has also begun as of the 2014-2015 academic year.  Thus, our history department continues to its academic life by strengthening our mission to become the locomotive for the development and progress of our university. Currently, 258 of them are Normal Education in our department; A total of 456 students, 198 of whom are in Secondary Education, continue their education at the undergraduate level.

Period and coverage of the History Department

Education period in the history department consists of 8 semesters. It is necessary to pass the midterm and final exams at the end of each academic year to graduate from the department.  In addition to this, there are end-of-term exams at the end of each semester.  It is also requested that the student will be able to prepare a Final Thesis and an oral presentation for this work at the end of a project (at 7^th or 8^th semesters).

Graduation Requirements

In order to graduate from our department, all courses must be successful. For this reason, when the department is completed with all courses and successfully graduates, you will have a Bachelor degree in History.

Career Opportunities

Students who have successfully completed the department of history will be able to have an academic career at the graduate level in history departments, teaching at educational institutions. In addition, they will be able to have employment opportunities in the Turkish State Archives, the General Directorate of Foundations of the Republic of Turkey and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Turkey.
